Snow is one of the musts of the ideal Lombard New Year. Ski enthusiasts (and those who do not particularly like this discipline, but like to be surrounded by snow during the holidays) can choose only one mountain location to spend December 31.
Valtellina, in particular, brings the holidays to life and its pearl, Livigno, is capable of giving visitors who choose it a magical reveille.

There are also those who prefer street parties to the usual dinners or days on the ski slopes. Across the region there are many towns and villages in Lombardy that organize New Year’s Eve in the streets, filling the New Year with music and fun. One of the most famous New Year’s Eves in Piazza Lombardi is that of Como.
In fact, the city offers citizens and tourists an unforgettable evening between the lakeside and the central Piazza Cavour, which during the Christmas holidays turns into a flame of lights with illuminations and projections on the buildings.
Tourists and people from Como gather here to listen to concerts, admire performances, dance to the rhythm of the music and – at midnight – exchange greetings while admiring the colorful and pyrotechnic display of fireworks in the sky.
In the second part of the evening, however, the party moves to Piazza Volta where the shows continue until the early hours of the morning.
